The Delft Energy Initiative (DEI) is the portal to energy research, education and innovation at TU Delft. At TU Delft, we work with more than 700 energy scientists and several thousand students to develop the knowledge and innovations to tackle one of the greatest challenges of present days: availability of affordable energy for the world's population.
TU Delft's Prof. P.M. Herder joins Top Team for Energy
Paulien Herder, Professor of Engineering Systems Design in Energy & Industry at TU Delft will join the Dutch government's Top Team for Energy (Topteam Energie) on 1 November. In the team, she will be representing Dutch knowledge institutions.

STW grants 6.2 million for TU Delft research into nanoscopy, wind turbines and smart grids
The STW Technology Foundation and the business community will make a total of 6.2 million euros available to the UPON (Understanding Processes Using Operando Nanoscopy) and EUROS (Excellence in Uncertainty Reduction of Offshore wind Systems) research programmes.

Experts TU Delft in public and political debate
On Monday November 3rd, Dr.ir. Laurens de Vries, Dr. Niek Mouter, Dr.ir. Emile Chappin (TPM) and prof. Paulien Herder went to Nieuwspoort to have a meeting with representatives of Dutch Parliament. Subjects of the meeting were CO2 emissions trading (ETS) and social cost-benefit analysis of wind energy.

Slovak contemporary glass in sustainable house at campus TU Delft
Glass offers many possibilities in designing interior and exterior spaces. The upcoming months an exposition of unique Slovak contemporary glass art is organized in the sustainable terraced house on the TU Delft campus. The collection gives an overview of the contemporary glass scene in Slovakia, displaying objects from both melted and optical glass made by artist from different generations. The exposition is a collaboration of Gallery NOVA in Bratislava, Cultureel Fonds Oostpoort and TU Delft.

Climate Proof Cities: Practical guidelines for climate proof cities
Cities are vulnerable to the effects of climate change. The most efficient way to make cities more climate proof is through numerous relatively small and local measures, which can often be carried out parallel to major maintenance or renovation work. These were the findings of a final report published recently by the Climate Proof Cities research programme.
